The Traube is a house with tradition in the village centre of Appenzell. The rustic restaurant with adjoining hall, the beautiful terrace and the pretty garden under trees invite both locals and tourists to linger.

Nadja & Peter Inauen reopened the Traube with their son Henry in March 2020. With Thomas Wurz at their side, they were able to bring on board a professional who not only loves gastronomy, but lives it. The trio has known each other for many years. Peter and Thomas have already worked together at the Dreilinden St.Gallen and successfully managed the business. The three complement each other ideally and are a young, motivated and ambitious team.

In our kitchen creativity is the watchword. We use regional and seasonal products to conjure up traditional dishes with both refinement and modern notes for you – sometimes classical, sometimes with new interpretations.
